Background
SouthEast Bank's student loan application process had a low conversion rate (less than 20%), with many students abandoning applications midway. This project focused on redesigning the application flow to reduce friction and increase successful loan applications.
As the sole product designer, I led the end-to-end redesign working with lending teams, compliance officers, and college students to create a more transparent and user-friendly experience.

Impact
The redesigned application launched in August 2025 and results are still being analyzed. Initial results indicate students are completing applications three minutes faster with a 63% completion rate. This improvement is projected to generate an additional $50M in loan application volume annually.
